Jun. 24th, 2006 06:11 pmThe sun's bright (well, in England terms, it is) and the air is fresh (aside from the pollution from the cars) and the food is fresh (okay, no, it's take-away, but that'll do).
They hadn't had hotel reservations, but you'd be surprised what miracles being the son of satan could bring about, and you'd be surprised how comfortable the beds at the Mandarin Oriental are, even if Adam and Alanna spent more of the night smiling awkwardly at each other than sleeping. (Yes, just smiling awkwardly. No, that's not a euphemism. They may not have a lot of tact, but there was another person in the room, you perverts.)
And after store after store (after store) of being subjected to Alanna and Lucy's retail therapy, Adam's more than pleased to be stretched out on a blanket near a small lake (pond, really) with the sound of traffic almost, but not quite, out of hearing.
"Would one of you mind passing me a biscuit?"

If Lucy were Lilly, she would put her arm around Alanna's shoulder and press their cheek clothes and says, "I don't know, haven't spoken to mine since our wedding."
As Lucy is not, she merely blinks at the woman.

The woman gasps, wagging her finger in their direction. Alanna eyes it like she expects flames to spark forth. "Heathens," the woman declares.

Lucy has, however, spent time around her, and Alanna, and dealt with various people for years calling her worse.
"Barbarian, actually," she says mildly, and smiles. "But I suppose if you're very technical it's close enough. Though I don't worship the river or wood gods, you understand."
It is possible the woman looks ready to faint or orgasm at her glee for having an excuse for Righteous Anger at this point.

The woman lifts her umbrella like she's preparing to whack them with it.

"Careful, you might poke out your own eye." The umbrella is quickly returned.

That idea is enough for her to hurry away, and leave Lucy blinking at Alanna.
"How odd."
