Adam dreams.
He does not dream of Heaven, of the serene look of those who ascend. He does not dream of the peaceful music of the harp and the clavichord, of the choirs of angels. He does not dream of the light and the white, of eternal calm.
Adam is afraid of Heaven.
He does not dream of earth, of his friends and his family, of Dog. He does not dream of the past of the future, or of people who will never be. Adam always wanted a brother.
He does not dream of Hell, of the fearful look of those who descend. He does not dream of the devil music, of the guitar and the drums, of the rock 'n roll singers. He does not dream of the dark and the fire, of eternal torment.
Adam is afraid of Hell.
Adam dreams instead of a great void, of everything and nothing. He dreams of the black and the quiet.
In his dreams, there is no music.
Adam is afraid.
