*Adam's been up for a while, just watching her sleep. There's a kind of magic that comes with the early morning light, and he's afraid that if he moves, it'll shatter.*
*She grins as they go up, lifting her hand to his waist for balance. It remains an unsettling sensation. When they step off, she nearly causes a traffic jam by digging in her heels and not taking a step away from the escalator.
There are so many dresses. All colors, lengths, sizes: she has no idea where to begin.*
Well.
I suppose I should just look for anything that isn't orange?
*She teases, dragging him toward a section of dresses that look more her style. Less frills. Finding one she likes, she ducks around a display and puts the hanger over her neck.*
*Focused, she pushes the dress at him and wanders off. Thankfully, she has been to a department store before, and thus the concept of dressing rooms is not new. Soon she has her arms full and finds him again, grinning.*
Lots of options. These are heavy, so I'm going to go try them.
All right. If I find one I like, I'll come show you.
Maybe.
*Alanna winks and follows the sales associate, declining the woman's offer to take the dresses. It's possible she's wrinkling them horribly, but they feel good. This feels good. Once inside, she stares at herself in the mirror and smiles.*
*Alanna stares at her reflection almost as if she doesn't recognize herself. It isn't the first time she has had that problem. Smiling, she turns and hugs him, face tilted up.*
I like it. Length okay?
*It hits her above the knee, and she's still not quite sure about such lengths.*
*But she makes no move toward them, rather stands on her toes, shifting her leg higher and closer. She slips one hand out of his shirt and runs it up his chest and around his neck for support.*
*Alanna licks her lower lip, leaving her mouth slightly open. Eyes on his, she lets the front of the dress fall. It barely catches low on her hips, perhaps aided by the extra step she takes -almost into Adam.
Trusting him to take her weight, she leans into him and kisses the corner of his mouth.*

It won't eat you.
*Getting on first, he turns around so that she can watch him as they go up the escalator.*

That would be a start, perhaps.
*Adam turns, then, to look at the dresses and he, too, is rather overwhelmed.*
I don't even know where to start.

What do you think?

Oh! Right. Um. Rooms are...
*He looks around, trying to locate the dressing rooms.*
no subject
Alanna smiles at her, suddenly self-conscious.*
Right. I'll just- Will you be here?
no subject
*Adam catches the eye of the sales associate, who gives him a disapproving look.*
I'll be right here.
no subject
Maybe.
*Alanna winks and follows the sales associate, declining the woman's offer to take the dresses. It's possible she's wrinkling them horribly, but they feel good. This feels good. Once inside, she stares at herself in the mirror and smiles.*
Big ears, big ears.
Purple one first, I think.
no subject
Who's got big ears?
no subject
*She smiles, checking the lock and starting to change.*
Are you supposed to be back here, Adam Young?
no subject
*He winks.*
Am I supposed to be? Well, not technically, I suppose.
no subject
*She lets the skirt fall and holds her hand out.*
And since you are here... purple!
no subject
I really don't think purple is my color.
*And winks. But helps her on with the dress. It looks stunning, and he says so.*
no subject
I like it. Length okay?
*It hits her above the knee, and she's still not quite sure about such lengths.*
no subject
Seems just about perfect, to me.
no subject
Oh? Really?
*Biting her lip, she grips his waist and swallows.
Stupid dream.*
no subject
Mhmm.
*He tilts his head with a smile.*
You okay?
no subject
Uh huh.
*Her fingers slip under his shirt, splaying wide against the heat of his skin.*
Are you?
I should... try more.
no subject
Me? I'm fine.
You ought to try on the other dresses.
no subject
*But she makes no move toward them, rather stands on her toes, shifting her leg higher and closer. She slips one hand out of his shirt and runs it up his chest and around his neck for support.*
...trouble.
I don't think I can reach the zipper.
no subject
You mean this?
*And he reaches around her back, running his hand slowly along it before slowly slowly pulling the zip down.*

Thank you.

I've missed you.
*And it means what it does, and he kisses her.*
